Scale Drawings for Cube Box

With the perspective that Albert may come again to New York sometime in November the design for the Cube Box has to be evaluated and the scale drawings have to be done. While the lifting mechanism is pretty much figured out, the design for the main frame with the integration of the mechanism on top of it and for the doors that can receive the Cube, has still to be worked out.

After drafting the concept drawings in scale the details are developed and drawn. One of the most demanding topics is how to stabilize the components of the drive mechanism. Then a decision has to be made on how the Cube is fastened in the box for transportation and what the space requirements are for it.

The lifting mechanism has five main components: 1) motor with shaft and drive gear, 2) four double roller chain sprockets with shaft and ball bearings, 3) four single roller chain sprockets attached to a vertical spindle, 4) three low-profile spring roller chain tensioner and 5) five steel roller chains (four spindle drives and one main drive).
